THE MARKET America is experiencing an epidemic of titanic proportions. Each day 4,300 Americans become diabetic. In 2011 approximately 1.5 million new cases of diabetes will be added, boosting the total number of cases to about 25.5 million. By the year 2020 the total number of cases of diabetes and pre-diabetes is projected to affect half of all Americans at a cost to the U.S. health care system of $3.35 trillion. REVERSAL THERAPY Diabetes is a lifestyle disease that can be reversed through lifestyle changes. A seminal National Institutes of Health clinical trial, called the Diabetes Prevention Program, was 58% successful at reversing type 2 diabetes and pre-diabetes through improvements in diet, exercise and stress reduction. In many instances the individual’s glucose levels returned to their normal state — not only preventing diabetes from worsening, but reversing it entirely. DIABETES FREE ZONE Diabetes Free Zone builds on the Diabetes Prevention Program, adding a more structured, systematic approach which improves the rate of success. Diabetes Free Zone is a multi-component system specially designed to address the needs of type 2 diabetics in regaining and maintaining their health. The Diabetes Free Zone blends four components into structured daily routines that are easy to implement and follow. This synergy of routines soon becomes new habits that allow the diabetic to decrease their BMI and to reduce or completely discontinue their diabetic medications. DISTRIBUTION MODEL The Diabetes Free Zone provides the personal system for reversing diabetes but, the other essential ingredient for success is a strong support system to help encourage members and provide a higher level of accountability. This is primarily achieved by having local providers conduct weekly meetings - think Weight Watchers for Diabetics. CURRENT STATUS Currently, the following has been completed: the wellness system, the website, our initial inventory and our support systems. The next phase is the development of a sales force to solicit healthcare professionals to become providers. We have two providers set up in the triad area of North Carolina. Our goal is to have our initial 7 sales representatives in the field by February of 2011. We also conducted a 12week trial program with 25 diabetics. After 3 weeks 82% of the participants saw their blood sugar levels drop and experienced a corresponding reduction in their diabetes medications. Over time, a number of them also experienced significant weight loss, some as much as 12-15 lbs. INVESTMENT, REVENUE AND PROFIT Our company is seeking a total of $50,000 from one or more investors to provide working capital to develop the sales representative and provider networks. For the capital investment, Our company is offering an ownership stake. The investor or investors will share in the ongoing profits of the company in direct proportion to their percentage of ownership. The projected total return to investors over a 2 year period is approximately ten times the initial investment.
