As a new Sigma Theta Tau BSN student, in the current housing and health care situations:
I have a vision to eliminate the nursing shortage in California by creating innovative housing or scholarship opportunities for under represented cultural groups of nurse educators, in partnership with California State University.
The seed of this burning desire began in my last year of training as a Registered Nurse at junior college in 1991. I experienced culture shock during my postpartum clinical experience. The majority of the patients were Spanish Speakers needing education for their first-born child and the nurses caring for the patients spoke no Spanish.
I have further details, including personal stories, statistics, a business plan and a location available to begin the "Acertado Investments, Inc. in hopes of finding STAT fiscal contributions to support this dream to become reality.
