Being a geriatric nurse for the past 18 years has been very gratifying, although, it has also allowed me to experience the continuing shortage of trained health care workers.I am proposing to open a Certified Nurses Aide training program , which would be owned and operated by nurses. The program is a 100 hour , two week full time program . The students are then tested by the state to ensure they have the proper qualifications. Our economy has not stopped the need for healthcare workers, I feel this is also a way to give back to society and decrease unemployment rates. And utmost give patients the proper ratio of healthcare workers to meet their needs. I have experience as a CNA instructor as well as my years in nursing to accomodate my idea.
