Description:
My name is Shelley Lowe. I’m a mother of two young children who has spent countless hours planning and attending birthday parties. With that being said, I’d like to open an indoor playground for children in ages ranging from toddlers to six years of age. Its primary use would be for private birthday parties (two hour minimum) on weekends and weekday evenings, Its secondary use would be for private, fun educational field trips on weekdays during school hours, and also for parent and me arts & crafts and educational classes. These classes will be offered weekend mornings and weekday evenings (when parties are not scheduled).
MISSION:
Urban neighborhoods lack facilities of this nature. My concept would provide a personable, non-commercialized fun and educational experience for children’s birthday parties, field trips, and classes. Entertainment will include educational games and activities, a variety of arts and crafts, face painting, sing and dance along, along with the multiple toy amenities of the facility. My goal is to set a new trend for the birthday party venue industry, one that incorporates celebration and fun with creative learning.
PRODUCTS/ SERVICES:
There are several key areas that set Plei Clubhouse apart from other birthday party venues. Plei Club house will be exclusive to the birthday boy/girl, and their guests, with unlimited access to all amenities that includes Moon bouncer, slide, dress up & vanity, play kitchen, work benches, arts and crafts & much more for all guests. Plei Clubhouse will entertain with educational games along with arts and crafts activities for party guests to take home as a keepsake / favor. Plei Clubhouse caters to younger children so the activities and games are age appropriate. For the patrons convenience at Plei Clubhouse patrons are welcome to bring your own food and drinks. Plei Clubhouse offers an all inclusive party package that includes entertainment, with themed matching party bags, decorations, birthday hats, balloons, table cloths and cutlery. Plei Clubhouse will also take care of mailing party invites that includes the birthday boy/girls interests and sizes, along with keeping track of the guest planning to attend the party. Plei Clubhouse also doubles as an ideal place for exclusive school field trips for pre-schoolers, kindergardners, and first graders. Plei Clubhouse will also offer Parent & Me arts and crafts, and educational classes for parents and their children. Any visit to Plei Clubhouse will surely be complete with educational learning, imaginative creativity, and fun physical activity all under one roof at an affordable price.
MARKETING AND PROMOTION:
Plans to make Plei Clubhouse a success will include several resources for advertising. The grand opening of Plei Clubhouse will include the circulation of flyers door to door in surrounding neighborhoods. Flyers will also be circulated to local daycares, schools, parks, and churches. For continuing advertising and promotion a web page will be created. Plei Clubhouse will also use a social media plan via facebook, twitter, and other social media websites to reach out to potential clients. Google, yellowpages, (URL removed), along with advertisements in local family periodicals will also be used as a source of marketing. Of course word of mouth is a vital source of promotion. Email addresses of party guests will be requested to send promotional emails so potential patrons can keep Plei Clubhouse in mind for their future birthday celebration, or recommend us to a friend. Our email signature will include links to Plei Clubhouse websites, blog, facebook, and twitter pages. These links will give our customers more ways to contact us and learn more about Plei Clubhouse. I’d also speak with appropriate school personnel to secure educational field trips during the week. Lastly, I’d reach out to parents at local children’s facilities such as churches, daycares, schools (etc.) to schedule parent & me arts and crafts, and educational classes with their children.
MARKET ANALYSIS:
Plei Clubhouse is structured to appeal to toddlers through age 6 and their parents. We chose this age group for a couple of reasons. One, we felt urban areas lack indoor kid venues that cater strictly to younger children. The indoor kid venues that do exist cater more toward older children with advanced video games and entertainment for older kids. We also felt that this particular age group would benefit from the positive influence of educational games and activities as they are at an age where fun learning, imaginative creativity, and physical play are crucial in developing strong life long comprehension and social skills. Since there is a lack of this type of facility in urban neighborhoods it is impossible to document growths and trends. We view this as a strong advantage, as the business is unique in its nature, therefore competition is limited. This will result in a positive reception by the community, as we are offering services to their children that have not been previously offered.
