The Delano Group is the night job (and weekend job and lunch-break job)and passion of two non-profit professionals who have decided to strike out on their (URL removed)n if they have to keep their day jobs for a while.
The Delano Group will provide affordable housing and on-site supports for individuals who are in need of stable housing and would benefit from easy access to services including: case management/care coordination, job developing/job coaching and transportation. The tenants would be diverse but might include individuals with disabilities, seniors, teen mothers and would be idenitifed through on-going relationships with area service providers.
We are currently both in director level positions at a non-profit that provides residential and community supports individuals with disabilities. We have 20 years of non-profit/social service experience each, and have worked in the area of disabilities, foster care/at-risk youth and homelessness. We have experience in all phases of program development and management.
We are looking for either grants or someone with building or housing development experience to partner with us. Right now, we envision securing a small apartment building in an at-risk urban area to start with, but are open to suggestions.
We currently work in central NJ, but one of us lives north and the other south. We aren't married to a particular area, as long as it is in NJ.
