Description: Letter to investors: My name is Shaun DeWitt and I currently own and operate a small auto glass shop in Portland, OR. We have been operating for over 2 years now with no major funding until now. We have boot strapped for the last 2 years. The intent of this letter is to introduce myself and explain my business plans, objectives and competitive advantage. My objective is to raise $500,000-$1,000,000. Here is what I intend to do with this money: 1. PATENT. Purchase the patent rights to the auto glass installer. This device in my estimation will eventually become the mainstream method of installing windshields mainly due to the ease and simplicity of use and the quality of install every single time. This is an industry necessity and I believe it is way behind its time. PLEASE VISIT (URL removed) to learn more about it. 2. SALES. Begin sales and manufacturing for this device. The next step will be to market and demo the device to glass shops. Our aim is to sell each device for $4500-$5500 with a total profit of $2000-$3000 per device. Projected sales first year will be analyzed based on first month of sales. Sales goal is 100 in our first 6 months. 3. DOMINATE my local market. I will market my current auto glass shop utilizing this device to increase my own auto glass business's sales. I would allocate $20,000-$40,000 to all forms of marketing with the greatest ROI, starting with PPC for the first 6 months and then bringing in local SEO and social media marketing experts as well as print advertising and video marketing. I also intend to make our marketing videos go viral so that mainstream America will become aware of this new way of installing windshields to factory specification every time and they will start looking for glass shops who use it. I will hire expert YouTube video marketers who know how to make videos go mainstream. 4. TEAMS. I will hire and organize high performance teams for sales, installations, incoming calls, data entry accounting and scheduling. 5. FRANCHISE. I intend to build relationships with dealerships who have a service center with a car flow of 100 or more cars per day and offer to setup a CLEAN auto glass franchise operation. I keep all income during setup and sell it to them at $100,000 per dealership. Each setup should take 3-6 months. We will also setup independent franchises around the country. 6. We will then take our own auto glass operations national beginning strategically with top performing auto glass states. These would be where more replacements are performed than repairs such as Arizona and Florida whose laws require insurance companies to pay the full cost of a windshield replacement under comprehensive coverage regardless of their deductible. These are called no deductible or zero deductible states. Our company in 5 years should be a $100 million company with these approaches. Our aim is to elevate industry standards for the sake of the entire population. Windshields are important and considering that 70% or more of windshield installations are performed incorrectly, I would suggest it is now time for a change. We would pursue informing the American people about the differences between good and bad glass shops as well as safe and unsafe installations in ways that are captivating and enjoyable. There are glass shops who do perform quality installations consistently by care and attentiveness. But what this device helps accomplish is eliminating some of the human error. The cliche "A rising tide raises all ships" rings true and this device, as simple as it may be, will raise the tide and thus all glass shops involved to a higher level of safety. We all should have the peace of mind knowing that our windshields will keep us and our families safe in even the worst scenarios. Thank you in advance for helping me fund this.
