SLC Valve Repair is an Education and Business supply and service company. We get the PO’s (Purchase orders) contracts to go into the boiler plant test and repair the boiler safety valve(s). These valve(s) are what releases the pressure from the boiler(s), when steam builds up to much pressure, the valve lifts and lets the steam, air, water and gases out of the system so the boiler does not go into “melt down”. There are many other valve(s) in the boiler plant system that feeds the water, gas, air to the boiler. These boilers are what supplies energy (power), hot water and heat to other customers, such as your homes, schools colleges, Hospital(s) and neighborhoods. The Insurance Company(s) requires the company have the safety valve(s) inspected tested and making sure there working properly to the Manufacturer(s) specifications and certified by National Board Standards.
SLC Valve Repair; uses a flange facing machine if the steam cuts throw the surface of the flange so the gasket (Compression gasket) can NOT seal the valve to Flange surface. SLC Valve Repair will mount the flange facing machine into the ID of the pipe, then put the carbide bit into the chuck and turn the air on to have the head of the flange facing machine rotate and cut the surface of the flange.
SLC Valve Repair uses an AVK testing machine (Windows computerized testing machine) for testing the valve(s) to ensure the valve(s) is lifting at the proper lift that the valve(s) is set for.
SLC Valve Repair has a mobile machine shop on site when we plan the boiler shut down; This mobile machine shop is to make sure that all valve(s) are repaired more efficiently with fast repair(s). The mobile Machine shop is a 30 foot box truck with a Lathe and milling machine bolted inside, with a transformer to generate the power needed to run the Machines. There is all the tooling in steel cabinets, carbide tool bits for the Lathe and Milling machine. There are welders and electrodes inside for heat treatment and welding if required for the valve(s).
SLC Valve Repair; repairs all the Actuators and Operators that are attached to the valve(s) for them to operate, these operator’s and actuators are for the plant operator to open and close the valve(s) without touching the valve(s) and do it manually. These operators and actuators are tested with a fluke volt meter, the meter opens and shuts the valve(s) to make sure it operates, if the valve operator or actuator does not open or shut, we take the operator or actuator to the mobile machine shop or main shop and call the manufacture and order the parts needed to fix them. Then we will test them to make sure they operate correctly and bolt them back on to the valve(s).
SLC Valve Repair; stays on site for boiler restart. SLC Valve repair goes to every valve repaired and makes sure it is operating correctly, we have direct contact with control, we tell them to open and close the valve(s). We make sure all seating surfaces are not leaking; if they are we tighten the bolts more to make sure complete sealing for the flange, body to bonnet or tighten the packing glad to squash the packing.
