There is no cure for Alzheimer's disease at the present time and the statistical likelihood of an individual developing Alzheimer’s will triple from the current levels as a result of people living longer lives.
Our major emphasis is to identify, diagnose and treat MCI (Mild Cognitive Impairment) which is the pre-cursor to Alzheimer’s disease for the grossly under served population of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
This emphasis is supported by the Federal Programs of Medicare and Medicaid.
Early on-set Alzheimer's affects individuals between the ages of 40 to 65. By the time individuals reach the age of 85, there is a 50% chance they will develop the disease. According to government statistics, we are facing an epidemic with no cure in sight.
