Culture Coffee’s goal is to provide a space where the community and subsequently all District residents can socialize, be entertained and work in a safe, relaxing setting. Culture Coffee will foster an environment of learning by focusing on coffees, food, art and music from coffee producing countries (cultures) outside of the United States.
Briefly, every two or other month, a different coffee producing country will be a “Featured Culture”. Culture Coffee will host art exhibits, book readings, lectures, artists (musicians, filmmakers, etc), non-profit organizations and other culture events based on community needs and the “Featured Culture” of the month.
Culture Coffee will operate as a Limited Liability Corporation (LLC). The LLC combines the liability protection of a corporation with the tax treatment and ease of administration of a partnership. This will shield the owners from issues of personal liability and double taxation. This business plan is prepared to obtain financing in the amount of $100,000. This financing is required to prepare the selected site, purchase equipment and cover expenses during the first three (3) to six (6) months of operation. In addition, the owners plan to invest $30,000 of their own personal funds to help finance Culture Coffee. An estimated $50,000 will be solicited from private investors as short term loans.
