I am a parent of a ASD child looking to start a parent resource center and a "Day Treatment Center". This center would include parent workshops along with teacher workshops, ongoing activities for our youth that have developmental (URL removed)o a place where a parent could go to unwind while the child is safe. We would teach social skills to the older youths along with support groups for parents, siblings and others.
Based on my research this is a center that is very much needed in my area due to the fact that most other places you can go to for help have year long waiting lists. What are the parents to do in the mean time?
