The Withywood Centre is a thriving new neighbourhood community centre, health clinic, church and youth cafe for the people of Withywood, Hartcliffe and surrounding areas. Since the Centre opened to the public in January 2007 over 7,500 people have visited to attend activities and meetings in the Centre.
The idea came from local people and the Church Community Project in the early 1990s who were struggling to provide services to the community from an obsolete and run down 1950s church building. Initial feasibility work was carried out by Withywood Church and Community Project and Hartcliffe and Withywood Ventures. Bristol City Council and Bristol Primary Care Trust were identified as partners and following an extensive community consultation the Withywood Youth Centre site was chosen a
