The genesis of the company came from 2004 when, after returning from an extended stay in the Republic of Macedonia, Rudolph Carrera v. Linn formulated an idea of trying to preserve the music and folklore of his former host country. Since then, his vision, and those of his family and allies, has broadened to include countries around the world that are under-represented, as well as to expand into film preservation and the publication of literature.
