We are a 7 year old company that manufactures a line of food products the use Xylitol as an all natural sugar substitute. Xylitol has demonstrated health benefits due to its low caloric (40% less than sugar) and low glycemic (index of 7). Diabetics and health conscious shoppers choose our products due to the low glycemic index which helps stabilize blood sugar levels.
Emerald Forest Sugar products are currently selling in over 1,100 retail outlets throughout the United States and we are in discussions for large contracts in China, Singapore and elsewhere in the Far East where Xylitol is thought to have medicinal qualities.
Our products are endorsed by the Food & Drug Administration, the World Health Organization's Joint Expert Committee on Food Additives, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the European Union's Scientific Committee for Food and the Calorie Control Council.
In 2007 and 2008, we had yearly gross revenues of over US$1 million each year and, because of internet sales, this year (2009) expect to exceed gross revenues of $2 million (even without additional capital infusion).
We are looking for short term commercial paper type capital of about $200,000 to cover short-term working capital needs. Because of collateral we own, free and clear, the short term loan can be fully secured with an LTV of about 34%. After that, we will be seeking to raise long term funds to gear up for the Far East production contracts.
