Introduction
RLA Consultants International, Inc. started with the vision to help client companies achieve global competitiveness. The acronym stands for the three basic pillars of the US model for regaining competitiveness in the international market, namely:
• Reliability
• Lower Cost/Cost Avoidance
• Acceleration of Results
The idea started as a research work at the International Management Development Institute (IMD) in Lausanne, Switzerland, looking into the basic models of the United States, Europe and Japan in so far as approach to global competition is concerned.
True to its international character, RLA has technical partnerships with ABS-Quality Evaluations, Underwriters Laboratories, Inc., and TUV Rhineland. Its principal consultant is registered with Euroconsult in Amsterdam and had been inducted member of the prestigious International Who’s Who Of Professional, a global organization which gives you the names of the most significant men and women who are contributing to a rising economy, to a rising social life, to a rising understanding of how the world can be brought back to a world of stability. RLA was also one of the few local consulting organization invited to the HRD Japan in 1996 by the prestigious Japan Management Association (JMA).
RLA has assisted a diverse range of medium size and big corporations all over the world. Companies with quality system installed in its operation far exceed its competitors both in techniques and results.
In 1997, aware of a declining manufacturing sector, RLA set its sight into engineering and production. This is to test and demonstrate that its consulting services can be implemented in its own manufacturing outfit. It collaborated with another company JTM Electrical and poured its efforts into new product research.
As a result, it now manufactures, fabricates and assembles a variety of siesmic joint covers, which incorporates, metal and rubber based technologies. It is also starting its specialty construction operations. As an offshoot of its activities, RLA is also engaged in trading related activities all of these stands on a single premise, quality sells a product.
In the Philippines its brand of expansion joint systems have been used and approved by leading architectural firms including Palafox Associates, JT Manosa and Partners; GF and Partners; RR Payumo and Partners; G & W; Archion; Dick Goduco and Associates; R. Villarosa and Associates; Global Designs; R. Mirafuente and Associates and many more.
Its local brand satisfies all international specifications for the product, as a proof it was recently approved supplier for the United Nation’s WHO/WPRO Project replacing an earlier foreign supplier due to its far superior quality and cost effectiveness.
Its other recent project, saw the supply of one of the largest seismic gap cover used in the Philippines which is a 12 inches gap size for the St. Jude Catholic School; where only one other foreign competitor was able to match the required specification. RLA won the project by supplying at a price more than a third of the competitor’s price.
