Description:
Good Day,
I wanted to take the time to explain our business, the services we provide and the plans to move forward to gaining more profits in the coming years.
We are one of two pet stores within a five county radius. We are family owned, very friendly and hands on pet store. We provide pet sales from fish, dogs, cats, birds, reptiles to the foods and supplies these animals need to survive. We also groom pets for our customers. We are the only suppliers of mice and rats to feed different reptiles. This gives us a corner of the market which we have no competition.
The other pet store in the area is a chain store, which sales no dogs, mice or rats. They are just now starting in the saltwater fish which has shown a decline in our sales, however they are not taking the market. They also do not sell snakes, spiders nor iguanas or other lizards that people want as pets.
We also provide community services such as taking animals to schools for the kids to learn about, and to nursing homes so the residents have a chance to pet and play with the animals. These services are provided free and show that we give back to the communities we serve.
What our plan is to get working capital so we can compete with them in areas that they are taking the market, such as supplies, feed and toys for the animals. We want to have the stock and sell at the prices they do, so when we make a sale of animals they don't have we can get the other 50-60 dollars for the set up for the animal.
About our team her at E-Town Pet Center, we have the other co owner, that has been in this business for over 20 years. She managed this store for five years before acquiring it in 2004. We have our accountant is in his final year for his Bachelors in Accounting and Business Administration. I have an MBA and work on the operations, market and how we can gain market share. We also have a reptile person which has lived in the store most all his life as he is the son of my partner. We have a fish person that deals with our saltwater and has a AS degree in Marine Biology and going back for his Bachelors. All of our employees are either Certified or currently taking Pet Store Pro to become certified.
According to survey's, conducted by the American Pet Products Association, 62% or 72.9 million homes in America has a pet. In 2011 they estimated that $50.84 billion was spent on pets in America. This is up $2.49 billion from 2010 where $48.35 billion was spent. We want to be able to capture more of these increases allowing us to grow in the market. We are profitable however it is very minimal compared to how much is being spent in in this market.
I hope I have given a little insight of who we are , where we stand and the vision we want to follow to move forward. With the help of investors we want to grow our business to become the leader in all areas in our market area.
