Description: Prairie is the first and only company in the world to gain CFIA and USDA approvals for Omega-3 & Selenium enhanced chicken and pork. The bacon, for example, has an Omega-3 level similar to wild salmon (2.0g/100g serving). Test marketed in Canada, the products are enjoying 10% shelf space of typical pork & chicken. Developing are Omega-3 and Selenium turkey, goose, duck, lamb and other meats. We require investment in the brokerage to support a strong merchandising campaign at supermarkets in the U.S. The juicy, flavourful and nutritious chicken and pork products are sought after by discerning chefs and heath conscious consumers. Consumers are increasingly interested in the health benefits of foods and have begun to look beyond the basic nutritional benefits of food to the disease prevention and health enhancing compounds contained in many foods. This combined with a more widespread understanding of how diet affects disease, health-care costs and an aging population have created a market for “functional foods” and natural health products. Functional food sales in North America are expected to produce annual sales of $167 billion per year by 2010 and is the fastest growing food market segment. Omega-3 eggs are a comparable market products and enjoy a market share of 15% to 22%. We project a 15% penetration of the U.S. market within 5 years with sufficient investment capital to drive merchandising campaigns. The brokerage is paid 5% of total invoices, representing a large potential for revenue.
