Hello. I am looking for a 50/50 investor or partner to open a Card Room locally.
What is a Card Room?
In the state of Florida, gambling is illegal but the citizens still want to play. They have the option of going on a casino cruise ship outside of legal bounds (also not regulated) or going to reservations that don't need to follow state law (so-called Indian Casinos). Generally, neither are convenient. As a result, Card Rooms have sprung up.
The basis for these is that it is not illegal for the citizens to play against each other, its just illegal to play against the establishment (casino). Card Rooms are places that players can gather and play regulated games against each other. The primary difference from a casino is that the card room has no monetary stake in the game. Card Rooms make their money by charging a buy-in to each game or an attendance fee for a certain amount of time.
My future partner:
They should be looking to invest approximately $20,000, just like I am. They can either be involved in the business working there and help run things or take a more hands off role. They need not be knowledgeable in this line of business, I will be glad to help them along in that aspect. Its actually a pretty simple operation. The most complicated aspect is probably getting an understanding on the state regulations. I would like someone who has experience in running a business. Knowledge on topics like workman’s comp insurance and issues along those lines would be helpful. If you don’t have that, there is always legal council to be had.
