Island Mineral Springs Ltd is a local entrepreneurial response to consumer demand for safe drinking water that is lower priced than traditional imported bottled water and untreated raw water sources. We aim to thrive where the Town’s water supplies are unreliable and/or potentially unsafe for consumption. We envision to treat raw water that is collected from different sources (springs, deep boreholes, wells and the Town’s supply) using state of the art technologies that require minimal pre-existing technical expertise to operate.
Island Mineral Springs will generate revenue through its Water Shop dedicated to the production and delivery of purified, bottled drinking water. The company’s initial operations, earmarked for Central Bougainville’s Former Capital – Arawa (population of about 46,000), will steadily ramp up its pure water production capacity to approximately 780,000 bottles per month of 1.5 litre, 780,000 bottles per month of 500ml, and 100,000 bottles per month of 20 litre product lines.
