Description:
A faith based movie project - a true story - a pro wrestler
Hello, I am Mark Smith - former WCW wrestler and writer - true story
An independent filmmaker is working on this project with me. This project would merge 2 audiences that have NOT been brought together. I would like to discuss financing possibilities. My being in pro wrestling brings the connections to get famous people in the industry to be a part of this for little compensation. Think of the movie "The Wrestler", clean it up, have famous workers involved and some notable Hollywood talent. Our numbers are conservative and look good.
We have a budget of 2 million and a 25% state incentive.
I would appreciate knowing if this might be a project of interest. Combing the audiences of wrestling fans and faith based movie supporters create a large demographic.
Brief synopsis -true story
A pro wrestler loses his family and is told in the hospital that he may not live through his next match. He’s alone, then finds the cross. Years later, he and his wife find that their son has an unknown blood disorder while Mark suffers from irreversible brain damage due to wrestling. Yet against the odds, there’s VICTORY! Mark has one last chance to face his inner demons and they are overcome. The story is for all ages.
My story includes me facing my inner demons. The film will be family friendly. Wrestling draws all ages and my story relates to older kids, teens and adults. I do have a passion for reaching the people that would never step into a church building. Our society needs Christ and I do pray that my past in wrestling will be a "hook" to bring people in. They will enjoy the wrestling segments in the film but be exposed to facing pain and loss without lashing out at others.
Our country is ready and in need for this film. Faith based with pro wrestling is a combination that has not been done in movies. Only a documentary.
I have talked to Brian BOSWORTH'S AGENT, there's interest. Our Casting Director worked on the movies "The Blind Side and Ray" . Our Director has won Grammys, Dove Awards and film awards world wide. His movies are profitable.
For the reality of my wrestIing career, have been able to secure 3 members of the WWE hall of fame and other famous wrestlers to be in the movie for a reduced rate. The Honky Tonk Man, Jake Roberts, The Rock and Roll Express and other legends.
We had originally planned on a 500k budget, but the interest and comparables from the movie industry show a great earning potential with a budget increase.
With all investments are risks. Our casting director worked on the productions "The Blind Side" "Ray" and "Homeland" . Our director has won grammys and motion picture awards. The business plan is solid and as a ministry, investments will be tax deductible. This film will reach people who may never step into a church. We hope that this film may help some find peace and not go the route of violence that is bombarding our media. Thank you
