Description: My name is Renee Jenkins and I am the Owner of Heidi House LLC, which is a long-term Residential Group Home for teenage girls between the ages of 13-17 years old and are in the custody of Department of Social Services in the Northern Virginia Area. The group home is a new adventure and will be located in Fairfax County Virginia. As the owner, I am seeking small donations to assist with the initial start-up of the business. The funds will be used towards acquiring equipment for the facility, launching advertisements, financing inventory, supplies, and leasing of the facility. The goal of Heidi House is establishing a therapeutic facility for female youths requiring long-term residential care, and interrupting a pattern of consecutive placement for youths in foster care. The group home will provide a placement of permanency and end the traumatic effects resulting from continuous moves, which will enhance the girl’s ability to form healthy/stable attachments. Our innovative helping system is designed to provide levels of care, guidance and supervision that are consistently individualized, assessment-based, goal directed, growth inducing and relationship enhancing. Our commitment to service excellence will be evident in every programmatic element of individual and group care offered. Heidi House services and support will ensure that each resident’s physical, emotional and educational needs are met, monitored, recorded, and accurately reported to referring agencies. The major programmatic elements are: Education/Vocational Advocacy, Individual/Group Counseling Advocacy, Social Skills Competency Development, Life Skills Competency Development, Cultural Enrichment, Harmonious Group Living and Employment Readiness. The primary goals will be promoted through intense home, school, and community intervention guided by Life Coaches. The mission is to provide a therapeutic milieu where each girl is valued and accepted as she is, and where encouragement remains an essential key to (a) assisting her in the development of her capacities and potentials, (b) enhancing her ability to manage the challenges and opportunities of daily living, and (c) providing her with a solid foundation for successful independence. Also, continuity is another advantage that our program offers, because the long-term commitment to place female youths, and subsequent aftercare services, provide graduates with resources that will enable them to successfully pursue higher education and find careers in their field of choice. The core management team of Heidi House will include: Several executives with successful backgrounds in the Sociology, Counseling, Teaching, Psychology, Child Development, Social Work, and have experience with start-up operations. Regarding new markets, Heidi House has recently penetrated the group home residential facility market, a market niche with significant potential in growth and providing long-term residential care; therefore, your contribution to Heidi House will be greatly appreciated.
