Description: Info-glut has thrown the $6B book-making industry into turmoil. The buzz on the Internet has only made matters worse. While writers cannot get their work meaningfully published and thousands of downsized professionals struggle to find work as freelancers, the need for end-to-end content creation by corporates is exploding and has reached over $200B a year. Currently the need is satisfied either in-house or through the ad hoc efforts of a chaotic cottage industry. WriterMaker is creating a Collaborative Marketplace that will handle the end-to-end process of text-creation: writing, editing, proofreading, graphic design, marketing, and placement. The platform will help skilled professionals to form virtual teams dedicated to the production of both uncommissioned work and corporate content, from short fiction and articles to multi-volume works. The power of the platform comes from the integration of two workflows and a specialized backbone: ➢ A flexible guide through the process of text making: from editing, to translating, to marketing. ➢ A matchmaking space for all the skills needed in text production. ➢ A proprietary data model and algorithms tailored to the needs of text professionals, optimized to facilitate productive connections among writers, their texts, service-providers, and project requirements. The three founders - IT Executives - have been involved in the writing community for many years. Prior to launching WriterMaker, they had discussed the WriterMaker platform with over 200 potetnial users. The consensus arising from this market research is one of deep frustration with the current state of the industry, coupled with an eagerness to place work on a platform such as WriterMaker. We are now in the middle of building our MVP.
