Description:
Jatrodiesel was founded by Raj Mosali and Rahul Bobbili in 2004. Both partners own 100% of the company and was self funded from the beginning. Jatrodiesel was registered as an S-corporation in October, 2004. Since then, they built 10 Biodiesel plants all over the world processing a multitude of feedstocks. The plants, Jatrodiesel built are in Ohio (2), Pennsylvania (1), Wisconsin (1), Michigan (1), California (1), Maryland (1), Alberta, Canada (1), Philippines (1), and Uganda (1).
Jatrodiesel built its own Biodiesel plant in Miamisburg, OH and began operations in Sep 2007. The plant is located in a 20,000 sq ft leased building at 325 N. Riverview Ave, Miamisburg, OH.
Jatrodiesel owns the corporate building, housing engineering and administrative staff and an attached warehouse in Miamisburg, OH. The total space is about 22,000 sq ft. The address is, 845 N. Main St, Miamisburg, OH.
Jatrodiesel owns minority stake in Michigan Biodiesel and Western Biodiesel, both plants they built.
Jatrodiesel has launched collection of Used Restaurant Oil from various restaurants under its fully owned subsidiary and Trademarked PureSkyAlliance (PSA) in June 2008. Currently PureSkyAlliance collects over 20,000 gallons/week of Used Restaurant Oil from other restaurant oil collectors and from restaurants directly. PSA is a novel and unique concept that brings tremendous value to the alliance partners and also, to restaurants apart from cleaning the air and water in the community. Local EPA and city organizations that treat water have shown tremendous support to the program. And it is the backbone of our sustainable feedstocks.
On the R&D end, Jatrodiesel has successfully extracted Oil from Algae strains, using Solvent Extraction method. Algae was supplied by a partner company growing Algae. Initially Jatrodiesel invested time and efforts in growing Algae, but later shifted its focus to Algae Oil extraction as over 95% of the companies doing research with Algae are focused on growing Algae. Jatrodiesel had a fairly good success in growing Algae and even greater success in Algae Oil extraction. Jatrodiesel is also working on a different method for extraction which is more efficient than basic solvent extraction. They intend to release the results on the new methodology in February, 2009.
