Description: Bug stomper Pest control was started near the middle of June 2008. It is registered as a sole proprietorship business. I have been a licensed exterminator for the past three years. I was area manager for Help pest control located in Victoria Harbour, Ontario I was to take over that business within the next 3 years. However after a falling out with the current owner, I have went off on my own. In the time I was with Help I increased their customer base by an average of 30% per year. Some clients have opted to stay with me. Most of my clients will be on repeat yearly service protection plans. I plan to provide commercial, industrial, and residential pest control services. My goal is to become a leader in the pest control industry in the Georgian Bay, simcoe county area over the next five years. I plan to accomplish this by providing the best customer service in the field. All work will come with a written guarantee. We will comply with all current and coming (2009) pesticide regulations. We will always answer all questions to the best of our ability. Access to all M.S.D.S for any pesticides used will be available to all customers... Our pricing will be fair and industry competitive. My primary objectives over the next 18months (present-dec 09) will be: -Obtain a loan or grant of $60000 to cover business start up of Bug Stomper Pest Control. -Build up my existing client list through advertising, networking with local business owners, and word of mouth. -Bring in 1 new client a week -Increase sales from a projected $60 000 gross in the first year to $100 000 gross in the first 18 months. - Net profit should be around 70% of gross -Offer cross promotions with well established local business. Bug Stomper Pest control is a sole proprietorship, owned by Mr. Pierre Arsenault. Within the next two years I plan to incorporate the business. To maintain low overhead I will be operating the office out of my home. However all exterminating will take place off site at the customer residence or business. The home is located at 1 West st., Penetanguishene, ON, L9M1R4. Is equipped with a laptop, printer/scanner. As this is a service based business a large office is not required. We will be offering pest control services. In cottage country (Georgian Bay, Simcoe county, Muskoka areas) Although we will do one time extermination treatments such as bed bugs, carpenter ants, fleas, bat removal/clean up and cottage closing services. Most of our clients will be repeat customers on pest control service plans (yearly, seasonal). -Our protection plans protects homes and cottages from; spiders, ants, earwigs, beetles, wasps, hornets, and most other flying and crawling insects. - Clients sign up for 2-3 sprays a season (May-Oct) at an average of $150+ per application. -Winter/yearly clients receive rodent control in (Oct-Jan-April) rodent control can range from $175 up to $1000+ industrial clients. - Pest control programs for restraunts, plazzas, malls and mini-malls are also available. I plan to stand out in four ways. -written guarantee for all work. Exceptional customer service and good follow up. - I plan to offer plans for yearly and seasonal control, instead of just one time service calls. Plus I already have a small client base on which to build. Spraying will be done with hand pump sprayer or a truck mounted sprayer depending on how tall the structure is. All work in the first year will be done by me. As business increases I may hire a helper. As we grow we would like to offer clients the ability to pay by debit or credit card at the door, with mobile debit/credit card processors. The website would also allow client to email a pic of their house to receive an online service quote. I have applied for membership in the structural pest control association of Ontario as well. I plan to attend seminars to stay current in advances in the industry and any new laws. As I have been an exterminator and area manager for a local established pest control company for the past three years. I believe I have a good understanding of my field and where to look for business expansion. I have a small client base of my own to build on and the market for bug and animal control in the area is by no means oversaturated. Plenty of work available. Between June 19th/08-Oct 09th/08 Bug Stomper Pest Control has grossed around $15 000.00 Net $5000 (due to start-up costs) There are 5-6 other pest control companies in the area. However most of them operate out of Barrie and stick to that area, one is in Victoria Harbour that is the company I was manager of. Our target market is: -cottagers -homeowners living in cottage county -local industrial and commercial pest control contracts. Many of my clients are referral, and repeat clients. They recommend me because; my service works, competitive pricing, great customer service. Most are on yearly or seasonal plans. I have found that nine times out of ten if someone calls and get a onetime service I can usually sell them on the plan. I also offer to tender spider and pest control service at local businesses. Pest control is in growing demand as the government continues to remove pest control products for consumers. Making them rely of professionals like me with the skill to kill the bugs, while protecting the environment from misuse of pesticides. Plus in this area the bugs just get worse every year. As global warming continues, summers will be hotter than ever before. Our business is regulated by the M.O.E of Ontario. I require both a pesticide operator licence and my exterminator licence Both of which I have. Due to increased government regulation some areas of pest control such as lawn care cosmetic issues can no longer be addressed causing a down turn in business for those type pest controllers.
