Description: Conceptual Speech Technologies, LLC (CST)’s mission is to commercially deploy its conceptual-analysis based speech-recognition technology. CST’s patented speech-recognition technology allows speakers to use their own words, free of syntactic or other structural constraints; it computes a conceptual representation from the phonetic input possibilities, and reacts to the idea conveyed by the speaker. For example, a speaker might ask a CST-enabled Interactive Voice Recognition (IVR) system “At what time does flight 222 arrive from Washington and at which gate?” or any number of variants to this question. The system would then respond with an answer composed of all the elements inquired in one step (the time of arrival and the gate for this case). Conceptual Speech Recognition (CSR) is not limited to IVR implementations as a deployment to embedded devices would also unlock new possibilities and create new user-experiences unattainable to this day. CST does not intend to approach the embedded devices market as aggressively as the IVR market, but will nevertheless stay alert on opportunities that arise. In the IVR market, this novel approach to speech-recognition marks a paradigm-shift from competitors, who are limited to menu-prompts and tedious navigation systems. To ensure the validity of its approach, CST has already produced a functional prototype publicly available on its web-site. In order to acquire market share and attain profitability, CST’s business model offers both a product and services: 1. Conceptual Speech Commander (CSC) is the current prototype that will need to evolve to a deployable state. CST plans to use it internally to create CSR IVR and include it into its selling agreements so that vocabulary and conceptual representation building blocks can be maintained. 2. CST also plans to provide software development services and support agreements to facilitate the creation and maintenance of CSR applications for its customers.
