Pyro Corp is a patent licensing company that will primarily be using a single patent in its first few years. The patent is for a new type of engine that can be used for vehicles and/or other applications. The engine is entirely new and has several benefits such as better power-to-size ratio, fuel efficiency, and lower emissions, compared to other currently existing engines. Since the world is currently going through an energy crisis and rising fuel prices, the new technology has potential to be a major competitor in the energy and transportation industries.
In current gasoline and diesel engines, a single piston produces power every 4 strokes while our new technology will utilize the whole displacement capacity in a single stroke. In current technology, the torque and mechanical advantage produced by crankshaft is dependent on the angle between the crank arm and the piston. Our new technology does not have this limitation. Instead, the power input from the pistons is always tangential to the rotation of the power shaft, which contributes to the improved power-to-size ratio and the fuel efficiency. Another drawback of current engines is that there is still unused pressure in the cylinder before the gas is released. Our new technology utilizes that wasted energy by expanding the hot gas until it reaches approximately atmospheric pressure. One more factor in the fuel efficiency and lower emissions in our new technology is the constant volume combustion chamber like in turbine engines. These combustion chambers produce lower emissions, burn fuel more completely, and release more thermal energy. As a whole, our new technology has a simple design and can be made to use almost any type of fuel.
In the past few years there have been other engine ideas of which none become competitive against the internal combustion reciprocating engine. This is because they are small variations of the same concepts that were invented many decades ago. Since the new technology is not subject to the same limitations and has various advantages, it can be a competitive alternative to the current engines. To achieve our goals we will need about 2 or 3 million for international patent protection, research and development, and advertising to big companies worldwide. Once we get an idea of how the new engine will perform in the real world and we can show data to support our claims, then we can begin to sell patent licenses to car manufacturing giants and others.
