Stocks at a Glance is a web-based tool that displays equity valuation summaries in a very novel visual format. Type in the trading symbol of any stock, see the display and know the value of any "Stock at a Glance."
We believe that to maximize our value we need to build a working web service first and then sell or license the completed service to:
1) Retail stock trading sites like Prudential, Ameritrade, Scottrade, E-Trade and others who compete for customers partly or mostly on the value of their summary information;
2) Public information sites like Yahoo Finance, MSN Money, Google Finance and others whose business it is to drive traffic to their web-sites to increase advertising revenue; and,
3) Subscription based users.
The service works in proto-type. This is to say all the algorithms are written the displays built and so on but it is not in a form that is deliverable as a web service nor automatically updated. Patents on the display and use are currently being applied for but until the patent applications are submitted the idea can only be shown under signed NDAs.
The amount of funding required to finish the build out from this point forward is modest and comes down to machine and programming costs, legal fees and general working capital. We have commitments for about half of what we need and are looking for the other half.
