Orisun Health Partners, LLC is a start-up company that was formed in 2012, to provide essential hospital equipment, infrastructure, capital and expertise to government hospitals in countries in sub-saharan Africa. This will be achieved through joint venture arrangements between OHP and the respective state or local governments (Public Sector Partner). The joint venture then owns and operates government owned hospitals.
The major objective of the business and its biggest selling point is the opportunity to leverage private funds to cause a fundamental shift in the way goverments in sub-saharan Africa subsidize healthcare. Currently, the subsidy is on the supply side, what OHP strives to achieve is to support goverments to swithch the subsidy to the demand side through a Community Health Insurance Program that will then be the source of revenue for facilities under OHP/Governemnt joint venture.
The formation of the company is a culmination of almost three years gathering market intelligence on the business of healthcare in Nigeria. OHP is committed to achieving its business objectives through the introduction of a wide array of Pubic Private Partnership (PPP) models for the healthcare sector in sub-saharan Africa. Our Joint Venture initiatives will focus on government owned hospitals, where we become joint owner and operator.
