Description:
We are a "no kill" animal shelter, started in 1991, with 48 animals at present. We (two partners) have never sourced for donations but have paid all expenses from more than half of our salaries. However age is catching up - we are 51 (earning MYR 24000 p.a.) and 55 (unemployed). We own the 1/4 acre land on which our humble shelter is built but do not have the funds for installing supply of water (now transported daily from our house 2km away) and electricity (now from car batteries). There is no proper drainage. 22 dogs drowned in a massive flood in 2006. We had intended to run this charitable venture solely on our personal sacrifices (monetarily and physically). Unfortunately, we now have to seek donations / funding / employment or business opportunities, to continue our mission. Our simple blog is at: (URL removed).
