Backyard Studios was formed to deliver high quality motion pictures to attract and captivate a wide audience. Currently, Backyard Studios is seeking private investment for its first feature film. "Setting Sun" is a coming-of-age story about the romantic and occupational hardships of small-town kids struggling to move out and become independent.
The production value will look ten times the amount the movie will actually cost. We will be collaborating with a diverse team of professionals and young up-and-coming talent willing to work for less cost. These are individuals who know how to take advantage of the latest technologies in digital film making.
The film will be shot entirely in or around Manteca, CA, a city of roughly 68,000 where many of the key filmmakers are originally from. The local attention and hype for this film will be EXTREME. The story is about transitional youth in the rural area AND the community involvement will be high during the production process. Our goal is to get at least 50% of the population to see the movie in a span of 3-4 weeks, a result that will return all investments and then some.
After an explosive release in Manteca, we'll seek to expand to neighboring cities in Northern CA, and eventually seek to partner with a distribution company that can sell the film internationally.
The cast and crew are ready, and with the right investment this film will definitely generate a substantial profit.
