Description: Digital Smoke Signals is using New Media & Film throughout different Native American communities to bring economic development, education, language preservation and restore a cultural foundation through digital story telling. We are using PSA style format to help identify the problem, put actions to the problem and come out with a solution. Problem Since the creation of cinema and television, the majority of technological information has mis-educated society about Indigenous Nations. Solution To teach our Native American youth digital language and cultural preservation, empowerment and community awareness through digital story telling from an Indigenous Perspective. Action By creating an Indigenous narrative through new media & film, Native American youth will be able to document language, story-telling, history and training manuals through pro-active digital story-telling.
