Description: Patent History Back in the nineties I was a project manager for a construction co. that built churches all over the country. It took forever to get a structural steel roof on a building. I determined then that there had to be a better way so I started building models. In 2003 I acquired a patent called “Structural member with a strength reinforcing strap”. It was basically intended to construct a pre-insulated metal roof section in a factory and ship them to a pre engineered building job site. Strap steel couldn’t provide the needed live load capacity without some deflection. My present invention solves that problem and fits into the structural insulated panels already in use by the building industry with shorter spans. Present invention I have prepared a 21 page abstract of information for construction and patent plus 31 prints covering 46 claims. With this invention I have imbedded reinforcing steel in a wood beam that has a lot of tension pulled on it, sufficient to hold up thousands of lbs of load over a span of 48 ft. or more without camber or deflection. The beam serves as a structural member for a SIP type roof panel. The design allows for fire suppression piping, conduit and communications wiring to be imbedded in the insulation at the factory with a finished ceiling on the underside and a finished roof with solar panels on the top side. This is ready to set in place with a cane at the job sit. 5 to 6 people can install 10-12,000 sqft. Of roof a day and have it water tight when they go home at night. Market Nitch Being able to span long distances with an 8-10 inch thick finished modulated insulated roof panel is not possible in the building industry today. Speed, efficiency and cost are the primary attributes of the invention. Over the past year I have talked with a few dozen SIP Panel manufacturers who are building SIP panels for residential houses. I am not aware of any SIP panels being used in the institutional, commercial or the manufacturing sectors of the market. Two primary reasons, they cannot span the necessary distances for the product to be an acceptable product and they are not trying to produce fire rated panels. I don’t have the capital or enough years to pursue the start up of a manufacturing business on my own. I propose to assign 49% interest to an investor/marketer, keep 49% and assign 2% to a CPA. If we merchandise the beam by its self we can realize a royalty on a few hundred dollars per panel. If we get a 5% royalty on a modularized panel we can realize a royalty on $3-4,000 = $150-200 royalty. If we can include solar generation of electricity into a panel we can realize a royalty on $8-10,000 per panel of $4-500, a 12,000 sqft. project would utilize 37 panels = $14-18,000 in royalties. A couple companies in the building materials manufacturing business have expressed an interest in the technology, but will only work from patents. I need financial help and marketing assistance to complete a provisional patent and have capital to complete the finished patent within a year. .
