Aloha. Ala Punawai (AP), Path of the Spring, is the name of a company that will provide Hawaii educational land tours of quality on Hawaii island. Beginning in 2008, AP will provide services beginning in Kona with a plan to provide services in all of the six districts of Hawaii island within the first 5 years of work. It is the design of this business to serve the visitors to the state but to also serve the student populations, their parents and other residents of Hawaii.
Punawai means water spring in the mother tongue of Hawaii. Wai is water, that which brings life to all lands. The word for wealth comes from the word for water.
Punawai Tours unites those who desire to know Hawaii's long history with descendants of those families who created it.
A healthy land's springs are maintained so that ripples of change will continue to nurture the source of the water.
There has never been a better time to provide education in Hawaiian history, lore and culture than at the present. In addition to the 256 regular schools in the DOE in the state, there have never been as many new public charter schools emerging since the year 2000. Thirteen of the 30 new public charter schools in the state are on Hawaii island.
