My main Company is "Divers Direct" A sole proprietorship. I started as a commercial diver. I began shipping containers of mussel shells to Japan in 1991. Those shells are made in to beads called "Nuclei". These are implanted in to oysters to create cultured pearls. I expanded in to marketing and manufacturing these nuclei. Now I supply almost half of the nuclei used in the south sea pearl business. Because of my direct access to the pearl farms I have an opportunity to market pearls. I have spent the last couple of years studying the business and I have decided on my marketing plan for "The Pearler" It will be a multi tiered website Retail, Wholesale and Exclusive members. Supported with a direct marketing campaign. This will include media advertising, Power point education seminars. And we will operate information and sales kiosks at events. Such as Wine, Jazz and other festivals. We will also cater to the small jewelers and designers by offering a site where they can buy loose pearls at the prices usually reserved for the high end jewelers. I have contacted the pearl producers in Japan, Tahiti, China and Australia and they are all supportive.
