Description:
We currently have 10 US patent applications in the retail sector to detect counterfeited or diverted products using encrypted RFID tags to ensure customers that the purchases they are about to purchase are authentic, safe, from legitimate sources, and legal.
The Purchase Authentication System “PAS” incorporates 3 patent applications (filed May 04 – March 05) that established a secure communication network to provide customers ePedigree assurances t that the products they are about to purchase are genuine products that have originated by their legitimate manufacturer and are “new” and have not been recalled, previously purchased, pirated or from a gray-market source.
PAS Technology - Through the use of a trust authority (such as Verisign) a product’s RFID tag is scanned and the PAS network computes an algorithmic calculation of the RFID tag’s encrypted public & private key values to detect counterfeit products. An evaluation of the product’s RFID tag’s encrypted key that was recorded at the time of the product’s manufacture is digitally calculated to determine if the product’s key read at the point of sale is an identical pairing to the recorded key held by VeriSign. The PAS network’s communication channel, RFID readers, customer cellular telephones, digital devices, and in-store cash registers, kiosks, etc. are secured using the most advanced Elliptical Curve Cryptography technology.
Direct Incentive Authentication Link – system to electronically distribute advertising offers directly to a customer while the customer is scanning a product’s RFID tag, offering purchase incentives and services, such as discounts, the availability of additional promotional items and product accessories, product details, awards, points, etc.
eSafeBay – authentication auction technology ensuring participants that products offered for auction are genuine and legal by employing the PAS RFID tag encryption measures (stated above).
eSafeBuy – a product location / reservation system that aids customers in locating products within the retail arena by reading an RFID tag (of an actual product) or by entering a product identifier that finds products matching the product of interest. A customer may decide to purchase the product or reserve the product should the products ePedigree authentication be successful.
AuthentaCar – Authenticate automotive parts and components using RFID tags to establish a vehicle’s electronic Parts Identity Dossier that links each part to its manufacture and possible previous installation onto a vehicle. The goal of this technology is to prevent chop-shop parts from entering the legitimate automotive parts supply chain and identify counterfeited and third shift manufactured products.
Application Interface Device - advanced technology that provides customers the opportunity to purchase products, services, or to participate in auctions for items contained within any type of digital media content (Television, Movies, Documentaries, Sporting events, Commercials, etc.) directly with customers using their digital viewing device’s graphical user interface, controller, cellular telephone, etc. to conduct a transaction. The products within a movie or television program are identified within the broadcast interval whereby customers select products or services for: immediate purchase, product reservation placement, saving product details for subsequent purchase, or requesting additional product. Each product to be purchased are safeguarded by the ePedigree authenticity encryption measures (stated above). Product Instant Placement and Identifiers are streamed through a PAS communication channel and wifi connection.
Unfortunately, I cannot elaborate on three additional patent applications since we are finalizing “Continuation in patent” applications and utility patent applications with the USPTO.
Lastly, there are an equal amount of intellectual property concepts that are yet to be filed with the USPTO office!
