Totally Viewer interactive Television!
Text2TV a new technology from Findlay Productions called, what will enable television viewers to not only vote but judge the show and contestants and even direct the show from the comfort of their living rooms.
New York, NY: For the first time in television history, viewers can now participate actively in their favorite TV shows, directing or judging a program in real time, thanks to a new technology from Finatv Ltd.
“It’s like owning your own TV show, where you get to call all the shots,” says Michael Findlay of Finatv Ltd. “Now you can not only vote for your favorite contestants, you can also be directly involved in directing and judging the talents. Viewers can take total control of what happens on the show."
The technology, named Text 2 TV, allows viewers to use their telephone while watching a live program to change the direction of the show. Findlay created the system over several years, and he now has two Text 2 TV-powered shows ready for production.
"In 1993 I invented the concept of viewers voting by phone,” says Findlay. “The idea came to me as I was changing channels on my TV. I came across a music video on demand channel, where viewers would pay a fee to call a 1-900 number and enter three digit codes for the music videos they wanted to see next.” Findlay reinvented that idea to create UPickVideo, a 15-episode music video talent show, where viewers would vote for contestants over the phone, picking a final winner to win a record contract and prizes.
This new idea was pitch in 1993 to Mr. Bob Woodruss Vic President of program deployment manger for WWOR-TV wish is now U.P.N. it was turn down due to lack of capital. In 2001 the show was renamed “Raw Talent” and was pitched in England.
As Text 2 TV evolved, Findlay restructured Raw Talent, renaming it Multi*Talented and adding more innovated features to the show. Another program planned for production is Spin-A-Dates, a dating game show that matches up three to four contestants for crazy, fun dates and then quizzes them about the experience.
"Multi-Talented Viewers can not only vote for their favorite contestants, they can also get involved in judging and directing what happens,” says Findlay. “The revenue from this show will be in the range of hundreds of millions. Having these shows as part of your lineup would be like airing the Super Bowl once a week. Are you read?"
