A few years ago I traveled to San Francisco to do a consulting engagement on LOHAS business plans that led to (URL removed) and (URL removed) for a group that Norman Monson was associated with. Norman was the CFO that took Ramada Inns public. He has taught finance at Berkeley and Columbia.
While I was in Paris this summer doing my MBA, Norman and I began developing the concept of a chain and brand of “green hotels”. I have a unique combination of experiences – having developed a US$500-million residential/recreational expatriate community in Shanghai in the mid 1990s and spent the last few years starting social media companies, most recently as the turn-around CEO of (URL removed) (on line travel powered by social network).
