Garme Steel Company, LLC (also referred to as “the Company”) is a start-up steel manufacturer in Hillside, New Jersey. The Company will occupy the former ECD Steel Company building at 171 Central Avenue, and will produce the same line of products as ECD Steel. These include stainless steel wire for balls, pins, nails, screws, shelving racks, and a variety of forming products for the needle and ball bearing industries. Located on a five-acre site in an Urban Enterprise Zone, the building has 100,000 square feet, including 10,000 square feet of office and 86,000 square feet of warehouse/manufacturing space with ceiling heights ranging from 18 feet to 32 feet. Garme Steel Company will offer Just in Time (JIT) service to meet stringent delivery requirements while minimizing overhead through inventory control. Its facilities will have state-of-the-art metalworking and wire drawing machines and will maintain an environmentally approved waste water treatment system.
