Doodle Darlings is an on-line business that sells plush toys as well as infant onesies, which were born from simple doodles I drew for my little girl. There is also a Doodle Darlings Ditties app available on the Android and iPhone markets.
Even through the company was officially established in 2010, it did not begin selling until September of 2011 when the on-line store was finally up and running. Since then I have been diligent in spreading the word about the Doodle Darlings brand through social networking sites, blogs, ads, as well as a sponsorship.
The Doodle Darlings biggest accomplishment has been securing an event with Zulily that will occur at the end of April. This will be a huge help in bringing exposure to the brands target market.
I have found some success selling on-line, but I believe the Doodle Darlings brand will have even more success when the products get into retail stores. I am currently in discussions with a buyer about selling the Doodle Darlings plush toys to a big box retailer. My hurdle is getting the financial backing to produce the amount of plush toys they would like to distribute. This is an exciting opportunity for the company and my hope is that I can make it happen with some help from an investor
