P37 Records, which is in the infancy of its startup stages at this point in time, will operate as a complete record label for musical artists, of specific genres, who have little to no exposure to a fanbase, but who posess the potential needed to succeed in the versatile world of music marketing. The investor funds will be needed to secure proper recording of musical ideas, an album, which will be the actual product that our organization will later promote. The other area investor funds will be needed pertains to securing travel arrangements necessary for a travelling band to expose themselves to the masses. So to recap, investor funds will be needed for two areas; financing of the recording process, and financing of travel expenses, within reason, to promote (most likely locally)the different artists who will be contracted under our label. We will retain ownership and copyrights of all musical ideas recorded under contract, to ensure our longevity in the industry. Also, the area I wish to start this business in is Bryan/College Station, TX. There is one professional music studio in the area, which should be considered an asset, while there are no serious recording/labels in this area. While the larger TX cities are saturated with businesses such as this, limiting their success, this business will have virtually zero competition, giving us free reign of the local industry and talent directly after startup.
