Description: The Straightforward Description: The VP Arts Project has been created to provide a complete network for visual and performing arts. In the United States an enormous amount of the population is either involved in or appreciates the arts. Through this project we hope to release an online network that provides the all-in-one stop for both of these groups. This network would provide the behind the scenes needs for the artists and organizations that present art to the public, and a place for anyone in the viewing public to learn about the art available in their community and across the nation. The Slightly Less Straightforward Description: Now that you understand the basics of what we would like to provide let us explain what this network would provide to each type of user in the three categories of users. The “Artist”: The category of “Artist” itself describes a variety of people who would access this site. The first of course is the artist both visual and performing; but also includes those who are involved in the arts to provide support for the artists themselves. The “Artists” would have a way of showing a portfolio of their work, get news in the entertainment industry specific to their specialized field, networking with other professionals in a professional setting, and provide a simple way to apply for the most up to gallery openings, job openings, and casting calls. The “Presenter”: The “Presenter” is not a single person but the organizations and venues that provide an arena for the “Artists” work and perform. The “Presenter” would be able to provide information about themselves to “Artists” and “Patrons” while being able to get feedback form those who they employee and present to. The “Patron”: Currently as a “Patron” of the arts you have a plethora of obtain information about arts that you are interested in but what is missing? What is missing is a single place a “Patron” can visit and would provide a collection of information provided by the artists and organizations in the region they live in. The “Patron” would have the ability to gather information about the arts in their community by first viewing a regional information page that collects information from the “Patrons” and “Artists”. And them give them a chance to dig deeper into the art and learn about those involved in the work and provide their thoughts.
