AAFEC (African American Financial Empowerment Connection), Foundation Inc., is a 501c3, non-profit organization that was created out of a desire to provide financial education to the most impoverished groups of working people in America, African Americans and Latinos. African American people are the poorest people in America ( even though they work very hard) because as a people, they do not understand how money works.
I am a licensed financial agent, who has connected with other agents who believe as I do that the answer lies in changing the mindset of the people As we continue to provide innovative avenues for financial education and literacy we believe we can make great progress concerning how people spend, how they save and how they invest. We believe in change that is similar to the change that changed cigarette smoking from being viewed as glamorous and "cool", to being banned from almost every public place in (URL removed)nge that helped to implement the use of seat (URL removed) change that came about after a few people lobbied for tougher laws against drunk driving, as well as the changing of the mindset of a culture which allowed too many people to think it was ok to treat human beings as less than human because they looked different.
The financial industry is among the most lucrative careers in the world. Along with the knowledge of "How Money Works", "How to build a Successful Career in the a Financial Industry" is also offered in our curriculum. We call it "Putting Boots on the Ground" toward our mission. Our goal is the "help the one whose helping".
We put on events, seminars and workshop, in our communities, churches, recreation centers, homes etc. Our goal is to blanket the U.S. and set up AAFEC headquarters with directors in cities across the country. AAFEC is our non-profit however our training modules are put place by the companies we do business with, our lead company has over 100 years of experience. Event expenses, travel, and educational materials, advertising, equipment etc. are all expenses that we need to cover in order to move forward and grow. We are asking for $1,000,000 to start.
