Description:
The L.E.A.F. Model
L.E.A.F. proposes to capture the untapped domestic biodiesel market with a cheaper alternative to petroleum diesel. Every truck, barge, train and piece of heavy equipment that runs on petroleum based diesel is a potential consumer of biodiesel. The critical obstacle to market penetration is price. To overcome that obstacle and produce biodiesel that is less expensive than petroleum diesel, L.E.A.F. intends to:
• Use patented process technology in its facilities that will enable it to produce L.E.A.F. branded biodiesel fuel from waste vegetable oils- the lowest cost feedstocks currently available.
• Minimize transportation costs by purchasing feedstock and other inputs locally and selling the biodiesel it produces locally.
Most mid-sized cities in America have the waste oil supply and the diesel demand to make L.E.A.F. a profitable opportunity for investors. When feasible, the company will reduce the risk of feedstock price fluctuations by securing its own feedstock source- ideally with a vertical integration to Algae farming. The company intends to establish the L.E.A.F brand with a broad based market presence by placing mid sized production facilities in urban areas nationwide. The first facility will produce 4.5 million gallons per year and will be in Tulsa, Oklahoma where L.E.A.F.’s technology provider, Orbitek, is headquartered. Feedstock supply and buyers have been identified for all production. The L.E.A.F. model proposes to use retained earnings from sales and incentives as the cash basis for expansion from Tulsa to other urban centers. When the profitability of the model is demonstrated, management anticipates investigating options for a national roll out.
