Falcon Mobile Industries, Inc. is set to launch two (2) mobile facilities utilizing a proprietary technology platform for early breast cancer detection and diagnosis. Throughout the Imaging industry, more than 20% of all diagnostic imaging is done within mobile units.
Automated Tomographic Ultrasound (ATUS), Sofia (Soft Image Acquisition) is an enabling technology that allows the radiologist, for the first time, to view breast tissue in a three-dimensional environment by using fully-automated ultrasound acquisition and image analysis algorithms. This technology will also allow radiologists to determine if small stage-0 Ductal Carcinoma in Situ (DCIS) and early stage-I cancer is present in the 30 - 40% of breast screening patients who have dense breast tissue. Mammography with its low-dose ionizing radiation is unable to detect these early-stage cancers. Sofia’s cancer detection capability is not affected by dense breast tissue and it's adoption into the breast screening environment could result in the earlier detection of breast cancer, in most cases, prior to its metastasis, resulting in greater five-year survival rates and decreased therapeutic costs.
Sofia is designed to be an effective tool in the fight against breast cancer and is positioned as an adjunct/replacement for conventional mammography and manual ultrasound in the $8 billion breast screening and diagnostic market. For radiologists, Sofia offers enhanced diagnostic accuracy, significant reduction in screening costs, and more than twice the reimbursement currently available per patient when compared to mammography or manual ultrasound. For patients, Sofia offers no ionizing radiation exposure, no breast compression, and added assurance that the diagnostic result is accurate.
