Description:
Grimaud’s Cuisine & Cinema
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This business proposal describes the plans for opening a restaurant theatre to be called Grimaud’s, to be located at a Los Angeles or Orange county beach city, exact location TBD. The objective of this proposal is to request a small business investment for Grimaud’s.
Grimaud’s Cuisine & Cinema offers a new twist on dinner and a movie by offering food and beverage service staring prior to and during the movie. Grimaud’s will have ambiance making it the ideal setting for couples, or a friend’s night out.
DESCRIPTION OF THE BUSINESS
Grimaud’s Cuisine & Cinema will offer a modern alternative to the typical date night, or friend’s night out. Instead of rushing through dinner to make it to a movie, Grimaud’s guests can enjoy both within the same intimate setting. Grimaud’s will offer a unique dining experience featuring quality cuisine, beer, wine, and cocktails prior to showing newly released motion pictures at its two-screen movie theater. Each screening room will seat a modest 150 people pairing twosomes at tables comfortable for conversation, consumption, and film viewing pleasure. Grimaud’s will mingle ambiance for a dinner with the excitement of the latest box office hits.
Seating
To maximize the viewing experience, Grimaud’s will offer modified stadium seating. A space that is roughly 12,000 square feet will house the Grimaud’s operation. However, dependent upon the limitations of the space obtained, there are three options Grimaud’s will consider for the layout of the theatres.
Option one would most closely resemble a typical movie theatre featuring doublewide rows of stadium seating. The width of the rows would accommodate a table as well as walking room for wait staff serving our guests. Each row would have floor lighting and designer railings for safety. There will also be dim lighting via table lamps or candlelight on each and every table.
Option two would be less graduated offering platforms wide enough for multiple rows staggered seating and tables. Each platform would have floor lighting and designer railings for safety.
Option three would combine options one or two above with a balcony section that would accommodate parties larger than two.
Food & Beverage Service
Doors will open seven days a week at least one hour prior to show time. Within this hour, guests will be seated and have the opportunity to converse over dinner and drinks. The dinner menu will contain simple, fresh and delicious appetizer, entrée, and dessert options. The Grimaud’s dinner menu will include healthy options for the health-conscious diner, salads and vegetarian options for those desiring a lighter fare, and a hearty selection of steak, seafood, poultry and pasta dishes for those who come with an appetite. Guests that are of legal age will also be able to order beer, wine and liquor if they so desire as well as other non-alcoholic beverages. Based on California liquor license laws, you must be 21 or accompanied by an adult.
In order to show first run feature films, Grimaud’s must meet the film industry’s definition of a theatrical establishment. The majority of the dinner experience will take place primarily one hour before the feature begins. However, wait staff will still be available for additional drink, food, coffee, and desert orders throughout the show.
Feature Film Presentations
First run feature films will show at Grimaud’s on a two-week rotation or as otherwise contractually arranged with the studios. As such, one new film per week will be shown giving guests another reason to return to Grimaud’s. One dinner show will be scheduled Monday through Friday and two dinner shows will be scheduled on Saturday and Sunday. During the summer months, a lunch show will also be scheduled on Saturday and Sunday.
Grimaud’s will be equipped with the state of the art theater equipment which will include Dolby Digital surround sound, and digital projectors which project the cleanest and crispest picture.
