Description:
The Philadelphia Sports Zone is designed to be a sustainable multisport and activity complex located in North East Philadelphia. It will be a destination for academic, intramural, tournament and social interactions with the goal of becoming a cultural phenomenon. It will provide an atmosphere to enrich countless young lives, a “Mount Olympus” to foster an environment of healthy challenges, higher thought, dedication, focus and respect by virtue of our aim to create the next “Great Generation,” where youth shall NOT be wasted on the young. It is a proven statistic that when ethics are introduced at a young age and reinforced, especially through sports, there is an exponential increase in personal motivation with a reduced burden to society, (typically with a $16 return on every dollar spent by the State of Pennsylvania alone by reducing crime, corrections and educational savings.) In addition, there will be over 100 new local jobs created as a result of this facility, carefully chosen for a mission to properly serve our youth. The facility will incorporate only the most advanced, best performing and safest sports surfaces and provide a safe and environmentally sound experience for all guests. It will host soccer, football, lacrosse, baseball, field hockey, basketball, volleyball, and futsal programs as well as the Special (URL removed)h almost 200,000 square feet, this will be the only facility of its size available in the North East to run year-round sports programs, effectively doubling the playing season and putting the North East on the map for major international tournaments. Once in operation, the facility will employ well over 100 full and part time employees providing a much needed revenue stream back into the community. This positive impact to the local region will be felt immediately, with clean and well maintained surroundings a long awaited welcome to local merchants, franchisees and entrepreneurs offering convenience items, food, lodging, transportation, sundries and a myriad of necessary items to support the thousands of attendees and their chaperones to the numerous local, national and international tournaments that will be scheduled on a weekly basis for the various sports programs hosted. This positive ripple will most definitely permeate and positively affect the entire city with the amount of services that will be required within a forty mile (URL removed) Philadelphia Sports Zone was founded to fulfill a desperate need in the Philadelphia communities for a year round sports facility that will not only nurture athletics, practice skills, teamwork, fitness, good nutrition and fair play in a safe environment that is designed to promote the utmost in physical performance, but also to foster an interaction mindful of the values that promote civility, honor and teamwork. Basic values that will be taught on the field, achieved through the hearts and practiced in society
