LOMAX ENTERPRISES LIMITED (LEL) is a Kenyan company formed in July
2012 and primarily trades in AUTOMOTIVE BATTERIES and RENEWABLE
ENERGY products. LEL has, to date, traded only with CHLORIDE EXIDE brand
of batteries, both the lead acid and the maintenance-free types, as a dealer for
Chloride Exide (K) Limited.
From inception to date, LEL posted a turnover of Kshs 1.6 million (USD 18,755)
for the 18 months ended 31st December 2013. During this period, LEL has
posted a GROSS PROFIT of Kshs 324,465 (USD 3,773). Its NET LOSS posted
at Kshs 154,869 (USD 1,801), mainly due to limited growth in UNITS SALES,
against the major FIXED COSTS, such as Staff Costs and Rent.
LEL’s state of affairs as at 31st December 2013 was worth Kshs 317,598 (USD
3,693) in assets (both fixed and current) financed by both short-term liabilities
and equity (which only included issued share capital, shareholders’ premiums
and retained net loss as mentioned above).
Here onward, LEL is now changing STRATEGY, ie. from RETAIL to WHOLESALE (START-UP BASIS all over again) and has set challenging goals and objectives, geared towards achieving a turnover of Kshs 97 million (USD 1 million) 12 months post-funding and Kshs 195 million (USD 2.2 million) 24 months post-funding. In order to achieve this, LEL requires an EQUITY INJECTION of Kshs 7 million (USD 78,000) as soon as possible.
