SarahCare Adult Day Care is a medical/social model day service center for seniors in need of supervision while loved ones are at work or completing errands. This service allows seniors to remain in their homes or with their families as long as possible while improving or maintiaining their highest level of function. Adult day care improves socialization opportunities, decreases depression, decreases number of falls, monitors nutrition, offers daily evaluation from a nurse and offers seniors with cognitive and/or physical disabilities a place to feel welcome and a valued part of society. Services will include hot lunch, morning and afternoon snack (approved by a dietician), daily interaction with an RN or LPN, specialized activities in both large and small groups catered to the needs of the individual, physical, occupational and speech therapy services on-site, beauty salon on-site, availability of showers/bathing, transportation is also available if requested. Daily operation will be from 7am-6pm excluding weekends and holidays. Family and care giver support groups will be on going. A board of advisors has been assembled to assist in the general oversite of the center. There will be three management positions, executive director, nurse, and activities director. All other positions will be care giver and/or activity focused. The center will be able to accept 60 FT participants.
