Pio Productions is a theatre ensemble for Young People between the ages of 16 to 26 years old. Pio Productions is based in Brisbane by sisters Lisa Pio and Theresa Pio which makes this a family partnership. Pio Productions allows a platform for Young people to showcase their skills and talents through singing, dancing, acting and other unconventional practices.
We cater for young emerging artists who actively express and practise forms such as rapping, beat boxing, hip-hop dancing, and many new art forms which will be introduced through mainstream theatre.
Our motives for entering into the business are due to a neglected market in the Australian theatre industry for Young people between the ages of 16 yrs to 26 yrs old in terms of theatre entertainment.
Young people have easy access and unlimited options in regards to the movie entertainment, theme park entertainment, music entertainment, and now dancing entertainment but not theatre entertainment.
As a family partnership, we are sisters who come from a family of Young people and who have worked closely with Young People throughout the years. We have always known as well as experienced that this is a market that should not be neglected as this is so much potential and talent which has not been exposed to the public. It is a market which has been abandoned for too long and we feel passionately that Young People have a lot to bring to the Arts and entertainment world hence they are the 'future' generation of the world therefore our arts and entertainment culture relies on their development. These are all motives into entering the business and we are proud to provide a platform for Young people who will occupy this space by showcasing their talents, skills and innovations through the arts.
We believe they should be treated like any other adult professional artist in the field that is with acknowledgement, respect, positivity and with the same professionalism! They are qualified artists in their own right! That is our motives behind the business.
