Description:
The Twin Sisters inn will comprise two Victorians converted into a bed and breakfast located in the heart of downtown Point Pleasant. There are no other bed and breakfasts in the shore town, and there will be no other bed and breakfast comparable!
The inns will be themed after their fictional previous owners, twin sisters who weathered the storm from the gay nineties all the way to the nineteen sixties, accompanying their independently wealthy adventurer father on his journies around the globe. Emma and Alice Mansard were courted by royalty, tribal chieftains, and famous artists. They hiked through the Himalayas, surfed with the Maori, and went on safari in Africa, but when it came time for them to retire, they found nowhere so agreeable as Point Pleasant, NJ, so they packed all the various souvenirs and trinkets of their adventures into two sweet Victorian houses, now the Twin Sisters inn.
The inn will consist of eleven bedrooms available for rent, each room themed to one of the sisters' expeditions (Africa, India, China, etc.). The inn will have a hot tub, pool, badminton and croquet courts, and offer breakfast for guests. Bicycles for rent, picnic lunches, and a chef's table dinner will be available for an additional charge.
One house is in move-in condition, the other needs cosmetic work. The work will be done by the owner - one house could be opened while the other is renovated. 3 blocks from the train station to NYC. Half mile from the beach. (5 min. by car, 10 min. by bike.)
I'm a single woman business owner, 55 years old, currently an executive chef for a charter boat company on the Hudson River. I was previously a partner in a pastry shop in NYC and a cafe in Paramus, NJ. I owned my own antique business as a young college student, and I currently supplement my income in the winter, restoring and painting houses. I'm bright, energetic, work hard, have a large network of support, and am uniquely qualified to run this kind of business. Food, hospitality, and Victoriana are my passions. This idea would combine all of them in a profitable way.
