I would like to have funding to resume a already started retail meat store sellng goat, lamb and beef. THe people who own the slaughter house cannot run both and asked me to take over the retail meat store since i have been a farmer selling goats and sheep whole off the farm, they wanted me to bring the business into the retail mode as there is such a large call for it in this area with middle eastern, carribean and mexican market of people for stores, individual sales and resturants. We have halal and kosher availability as well as usda cert for meat sales. This keeps us in a bigger market for the meat for holidays and keeping customers coming back. ALl i need is start up capital for ths venture and someone to believe in me. The Florida Dept of Agrculture wants me to obtain a farm for the keeping of the livestock before they will lend me any monies and that s all well and fine but a huge obligation for my just starting. I would rather leas land to put them on and have the capital to buy a few hundred head and not have the huge mortgage to see monthly. At present i rent a nice home on a large thorobred training center and perhaps when the business shows a good profit i will buy a farm. I want to be smart and just do the smaller operation at this time. Just give me the chance to prove my worth. As the saying goes in this business, everyone has to eat.
